A proposed model of the function of RcMYB8 in the regulation of salt and drought tolerance. Salinity and drought stress induced transcriptional expression of RcMYB8. Then, RcMYB8 binds to the promoters of both RcPR5/1 and RcP5CS1, influencing the callose deposition and proline contents. This in turn promotes Na+/K+ balance and enhances ROS scavenging ability. Thus, tolerance to salinity and tolerance to drought stress are enhanced
